At Barnes Street ELC we focus on the individual needs of each child and family, understanding that for many it is their first step into 'formal education and care' and can sometimes be a challenging transition from the home environment.

Our aim is to provide the highest standards of care and early childhood development for children from 6 weeks to five years of age, in collaboration with parents and families.

We believe in a holistic approach to child care and education, as well as working closely in partnerships with parents and families. Programs for each of the rooms are designed and implemented by qualified educators who believe, not only in the importance of appropriate learning structures for the early years, but also in the role children play in the development of these programs themselves.We believe that for a child to want to become involved in any program, they first need to feel safe, secure and loved.

The staff establish and build upon strong relationships with not only the children, but also their parents and family members. By working closely with all of the people involved in a child's life we believe we are able to provide a learning environment based on the individual needs of each child, as well as on strong consistency between the home and child-care centre environment.
